📖 Grammar Focus: Was and Were

Understanding the Past Tense

"Was" and "Were" are past tense forms of the verb "to be"

We use them to talk about things that happened in the past.

We were We were at the circus.
They were They were at the shopping centre.
💡 Memory Tip: Use "was" for singular (one person/thing) and "were" for plural (more than one), except "you" always uses "were"!

Example:

"In the afternoon, I went to the cinema. I watched a funny movie. I also ate popcorn. It was delicious!"

My Saturday

First paragraph:
